JCI Operation Hope: Aiding Recovery in Haiti
by JCI SENAT CATALUNYA on

Dear JCI Member,

Haiti recently suffered a devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake, causing catastrophic destruction. Many residents were displaced from their homes and families and the nation has been left in a state of emergency. A string of powerful aftershocks has only worsened the chaos currently gripping the impoverished country. While there is no exact number of casualties yet, tens of thousands of lives are expected to be lost.

JCI is coordinating aid with both the United Nations and members of JCI Dominican Republic. Through JCI Operation Hope, JCI Members can reach across the globe to expand this recovery initiative by committing to providing resources for sustainable recovery in Haiti. During the January Board Meeting at JCI World Headquarters, the Executive Committee pledged to provide aid to Haiti and asks members to help by donating money to JCI Operation Hope.

“As you can imagine, Haiti is in a very difficult situation,” said JCI Haiti National President Marie-Lynn Thomas. “The JCI Haiti office was destroyed in the earthquake and we are attempting to make contact with all of our JCI Haiti members, but communication is nearly impossible and even the most essential resources like water are scarce. We are grateful to have a generous international community and ask for any support you can provide.”

One of the principle values of JCI is the belief that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations. The duty to assist rests upon JCI Members from around the world. Donations of support can be sent via the JCI Operation Hope Web site. Operation Hope was established in 2005 to promote and coordinate relief efforts worldwide and all funds are used to assist the victims of recent natural disasters.

Programa dels Senadors a la Conferencia Europea
by dbadia on

Dear Senators,
Over the past week or so we know that many of you have signed up, or attempted to sign up for different programs being offered by us, including the pre-tours as well as the programs being offered for Senators during the Conference.
In order to simplify this process we would ask you to fill out the attached form, completing all information and send it to us on-line at my address peter.bakos@jciec2009.org
Then print out the form, sign it, and bring it with you when you come in June.  That way we will have your authorization for our records.
You will notice that not every program is on here, including golf, the coffee house visits, the tour of the Jewish Quarter, Train Driving and the newest, Strudel making and tasting for Senator Partners which is being offered on Saturday Morning.  These are being offered by us directly and we will ask you to pay on arrival.
Thank you in advance for your continued patience with IT issues.

Possible visita al Parlament d' Estrasburg
by JCI SENAT CATALUNYA on

Si us plau, passeu-ho a tots els senadotrs i JJ.
